A Kayak On Bluewater Lake (#667)

Kayak on car, map of Bluewater Lake, 15 miles later parked right on the edge of the lake and put my kayak in the water.

Just me, my kayak, New Mexico wild and the lake…..or so I thought…….

This is what I saw off in the distance.  Can you make out what is on the shore?  Neither could I?  But I knew it was something exciting so I paddled furiously to find out.

And, there they were……a small herd of wild horses…

Wild, wild horses….and curious too

The mare (center) is warding off a horse that got to0 close to her foal, the white colt following her.

And then……

Mama nursing her baby.
Guess my presence was not threatening 😉
