A Month Of Sundays: Day 24 (#552)

High winds warning for Oregon’s central coast today. I was supposed to be traveling down the coast to Gold Beach but not wanting a repeat of Wednesday’s hurricane force winds, I opted to stay an extra day at Seal Rock…..inside my cozy little camper.

This time last year I was workamping as a parking lot attendant at the Florida Strawberry Festival.  It was both fun and grueling.  Eleven straight days of working outdoors from 8am to 9pm.  No time off, no mercy from the elements.  It was fantastic.

I worked with two native Floridians, Jethro and Larry.  Both were big, big men;bouncers by night at two local clubs and they loved food.  Good old Southern comfort food.  One of the dishes they talked about quite fondly was Cheesy Grits.

So today I cooked some grits that were soaked in water overnight, added half Monterey Jack and half Cheddar cheese to the grits with a bit of butter.  Sat down to eat and wham…..I was in heaven.  Cheesy Grits heaven.

The winds subsided, the sun came out, I found a setting on my camera that says Art/Dramatic Tone.

What do you think?
