Flight 93 Memorial: Paying Respects To Our Heroes (#305)

I thought I would be filled with utter sadness when I arrived at the memorial.  I had avoided the site on my last trip through this part of the state for that very reason.  This time around I wanted simply to pay my respects no matter what the emotional cost.

To my grateful surprise,  the expectations of sadness were unfounded.  Throughout my visit, I felt a blessed peace in all the aspects of this thoughtful, loving remembrance.

The Flight 93 Memorial in Somerset County, Pennsylvania is a profoundly beautiful tribute to the heroes of 9/11/2001.

Wonderful – I especially love the key. You are my hero Anne. The clouds over the memorial are fitting too. Happy travels to you my very dear friend.

the coldness of the stone layout emphasis more the deep loss –
hard to comprehend, to take in – to understand why…
your last photograph with haiku does help bring peace to the confused mind – like a closure. like the Divine has a plan for everything.
    thanks. ♥

A most poignant and touching post Annie, thank you so much.
